What Causes Weight Gain While Recovering From Anorexia?

I am recovering from anorexia and my scales are showing 8 kgs more than last week! I have been eating about 7000 calories a day for 7 days and I can t stop binge eating sometimes. I have been told that the weight can t possibly be all fat especially since I barely feel bigger except perhaps in a few parts of my body like my breasts. Could the 8 KGS be all fat? I am 5 6 and my weight has gone from 50kgs to 58kgs in a week. Is this normal for someone like me? And I am also waking up very hot and sweaty in the morning.

Hi,

The maximum acceptable weight gain in anorexia patients are 4 pounds/week.

But 8 kg means you have to check whether your weight machine problem or excessive water retention etc.

Please consult your dietician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
