What Causes Weight Gain While Taking Doxycycline For Acne?

Hi Doctor my husband has been taking Doxycycline 50 mg 2 daily for Acne concerns for the past 2 weeks. He has gained 5 lbs. does this drug contain Steroid?. We are concerned as he has only gained this weight since starting on this medication. Thank you.

I really appreciate your concern Doxycycline is antibiotic and not the steroid and this does not cause any weight gain this is very safe drug as long as the acne concern, hope this information helps take care
