What Causes Weight Gain?

I always weight 165 bounds from age 60 to almost 78 years of age. I eat a healthy diet and even less than some years ago. within the last 4 to 6 weeks I have gained 6 pounds and my weight varies from 170 to 173 pounds. What is causing this increase? I also had my thyroids checked - all normal. Since 1986 I walk almost daily 2 to 3 miles. I am otherwise a healthy person.

Your thyroid is normal and you take healthy food and walk 2.5 miles daily.

Opt for naturals now.

Start sipping hot ( tolerable) water daily 2-3 times. Better you boil Holy basil leaves and/ or ginger in it. Small qtys say 5-7 leaves and little ginger or ginger powder pinch. It will start cleansing your bowels and flare up appetite by gastric juice secretions in few days. It will enhance your metabolism

Medohar guggul is a classic Ayurveda medicine which is common in India but elsewhere you may try to get online. Tab 2 bds to 2 TDS with warm water.

Learn deep breathing and practice few minutes a day esp. 'kapal bhati' deep breathing.

Learn simple Yoga and do at least for 15 minutes a day.

Economic, safe and easy method to shed weight without side effects. May be slow but it will have sustained effect. Monitor your caloric intake. It should be lesser than calories burnt approximately.
