What Causes Weight Loss And Pain In The Upper Abdomen?

65 y/o male presented with sudden weight loss (165 a year ago, 145 one week ago, 137 current) Abdominal pain in upper abdomen both left and right side. Latest blood work indicates significant change from 6 months ago. Specifically current troubling values:A1C=11.2, AST=8, glucose 411, Alk Phos=153, ALT=79. Previously, all within normal limits.

I have gone through the reports you have mentioned.
Patient is having very high HbA1C.
This suggest uncontrolled diabetes.
Uncontrolled diabetes is the likely cause for his weight loss and abdominal pain.
So consult diabetologist and start anti diabetic drugs.
Strict anti diabetic diet should be followed.
Don't worry, he will be alright once his sugar is normal.
