What Causes Weight Loss During Pregnancy?

Hi there, My baby is now just over 24 weeks old. I had a perfect pregnancy. No cravings, no morning sickness, no weight gain nor weight loss, or any drama at all. Baby is perfectly healthy. After birth, I gained weight. I ve always struggled to lose weight, but when I was pregnant, it seemed that my body compromised. I basically lost weight, while my baby increased weight, which balanced each other out. What would have caused me to lose weight during pregnancy, that I dont have while not pregnant?

Hello,

You can't lose weight during pregnancy just increase weight at low limits.
If sow what you gain will go for child's weight, fluids and placenta. At first trimester you may loose weight if you keep hypocaloric diet and will not much affect baby. Increasing weight after pregnancy will probably cause you to have sensation that you loose weight during pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
