What Causes Weight Loss, Right-sided Neck Pain And Fatigue In A Diabetic?
inquiring re: my father 74 yo previously healthy male with 15yr history of Type II DM which has been well control with his meds, until the last 2-3month when he started having am BS of 200"s, weight loss of 30 lbs since jan, with fatigue, right sided neck pain.
wbc 12.2, rbc 4.07, hgb 12.1, hct 37.7, plt 658 and vit b 12 1305 A1C 8.2 are his only abnormal labs
Does he require further testing or investigation for possible blood disorder.
His current PCP prior to this set of labs is leaning toward psychosomatic causes for wt loss (anxiety)

He has uncontrolled diabetes according to reading of HbA1c.
he may have weightloss due to that.
But its always advisable to get scanned at this age, he should visit his endocrinologist and adjust his medications for diabetes.
