What Causes Weight Loss, Swallowing Difficulty And Lack Of Appetite?

I am having a great deal of trouble with getting food down. Now for over 3 months I have been loosing weight. I have trouble swallowing. I cannot fill my mouth or I feel like I m suffocating. I can get liquids down and am adding insure to my diet as it is helpful to keep calories in my diet. I don t feel hungry. No food seems easy to eat. I have seen my dentist, my primary care doctor. I have a modified barium swallow this week with a therapist there at my elbow to learn how I m swallowing, when I m swallowing and all the parts of the throat.

Hello,
It is good that you are getting the barium swallow. The test should let your doctors know if you have some sort of blockage in the esophagus. Once they find the cause of your symptoms they can develop a treatment plan.
