Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. Golo.com claims that by using insulin, people lose weight eating normal foods. Have you seen their website and claims? I m very skeptical. If their claims were true, there would be no overweight people in the U.S. That s my thought. In addition, I m afraid that if we start playing with insulin levels, this may eventually lead to health problems in the future, pancreatic cancer, etc. Am I right or wrong? What do you say? I look forward to your response. By the way, is your service free? If it isn t, there s no need to respond. Thank you.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Insulin is mainly used in diabetics to bring down raised glucose levels and keep it under control. Per say it doesn't directly help in weight reduction. It needs to be used with caution as it may cause hypoglycemia and eventually lands up n coma. Intake of insulin is not associated with development of cancer. Hope the information provided helps. All the best. Regards, Dr.Ashakiran.S., MBBS., MD.
