Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a welt or hive that I noticed on my left side of stomach, close to the naval. It was round and red, about the size of a flattened small lime. I discovered it while drying off from the shower. The next day I could see it began to fade, almost like it was fading left to right. Today, it s almost gone, however the area that s still visible has a dry feel and look to it. It never itched. If it wasn t for me seeing it in the mirror I wouldn t have known it was there. What could this be or could have been?
Welt or give on the left side of your abdomen may be due to furuncle, folliculitis, small abscess, or paraumbilical hernia. If it appears again just check if it is reducible. If it's reducible, it means hernia. As it has faded away now, you don't need to worry and don't need any treatment.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
