What Causes Welts On Body When Diagnosed With Pneumonia?

My nine year old son was been diagnosed with pneumonia a few days ago. Small welts have been showing up on his body within the last few hours, so far we have found three. Is this related to the pneumonia, or could it be something else. They look like mosquito bites but I m pretty sure that s not what they are.

Hi,

Pneumonia is caused by virus / bacteria and it can cause skin allergic reactions also. It could be due to that.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshita, Ophthalmologist
