Hello and welcome to HCM, Wet cough implies cough accompanied with sputum production. Sputum production indicates persistence of lower respiratory tract infection. A history of intake of antibiotics-cefixime and fever suggests that you were suffering from infection. Accompanying sputum which is yellow or green in colour suggests that the infection is still persisting and antibiotic course may have to be continued. However, if the sputum is thin and watery, then it infection has cleared away and the thin watery fluid will also clear away.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
