What Causes Wheezing And Swelling In The Body At Night?

My husband cannot sleep in a bed and has to sleep in a recliner because he says he feels like he is drowning. He also has a hard time getting around and swells up badly by nightime. He weezes when he exerts any type of excercise. What could this be?

Hi,

Your husband seems to have severe breathing trouble (asthmatic ); might be associated with cold with cardiac involvement. He should see a chest specialist for necessary investigations & specific advise.

Till then he should take rest. In propped up position & continue with inhaled bronchodilators (if already under treatment). He can add tab. Derriphyllin three times a day after food for some relief.
