What Causes Wheezing, Swollen Legs, Lower Back Pain And Breathlessness?
my name is Carly i just got back from a trip to europe i never really get sick but since ive gotten back ive expirianced -swelling and pain in my legs -shortness of breath -extremely pale -lower back pain -headaches -numbness -coughing up blood -abdominal pain -low blood pressure -dizziness -sharp intense chest pain -wheezing
Dear Carly, Given your symptoms and the constellation of symptoms that you are experiencing, I would be very concerned for a pulmonary embolism, or a blood clot that has traveled from the legs to the lungs. Women, and folks who have just traveled for an extended period of time (like your long plane flight) without moving are especially at risk. I recommend you seek emergent medical attention without delay, as this can be life threatening. Having shortness of breath, your low blood pressure that you mentioned, coughing up blood, the sharp intense chest pain and the swelling and pain in your legs all make me very concerned that this is what is going on. I cannot as easily explain that back pain/headness/abdominal pain and numbness but I think you ought to get to an emergency room immediately for a CT scan of the lungs to rule out a pulmonary embolism.
