What Causes Wheezing, coughing Along With Fatigueness In Elderly?

My mother is 90 and recently started wheezing when taking only a few steps and has to sit. She has also started coughing and complains of fatigue. We are giving her prescribed cough medicine to help her sleep at night and she has been using my husbands rescue inhaler. We took her to urgent care they did x-rays to rule out pneumonia they released her with just a prescription. It is not getting better and we are concerned. Its been a week.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your mother seems to have respiratory problem with causing low oxygen inhalation (suggested by relief with use of inhaler) which leads to her fatigue. Actually, X-ray would have given enough information to suggest few more investigations and find suitable medication for her. Please take her to a chest physician for more specific advice. Tab. Derriphylin twice a day with her routine medication would give her relief, till she seeks expert advise.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
