I have a white coating that I manage to brush most off. but it keeps coming back. I went to the doctor thinking it was thrush and he gave me antibiotics for it. but that doesn t seem to be the case. He took a sample and said it wasnt thrush. what is the cause of the white coating on my tongue and how can I best deal with it?

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The white coating over the tongue can be because of the candidiasis(fungal infection) or it can a lichen planus or leukoplakia.
Nothing to be panic, any how biopsy sample has been taken, wait for the result. Once the diagnosis is confirmed, we can treat accordingly. If it is a candidiasis, it can be treated with topical antifungal agents like clotrimazole. If it is a lichen planus, it can be treated with topical steroids like triamcinolone acetonide. If it is a lichen planus, it can be treated with antioxidants like Vitamin B6 and 12.
I hope my answer will help you, take care.
