What Causes White Discharge And Severe Cramps During Menstruation While On Nuvaring?

I have been taking the neuva ring birth control for over a year now and during this period I had last week I started cramping ready bad and then went to the bathroom and a thick white jelly mass came out and it has really scared me. I have an appointment by my doctor next month. Should I be worried? The thing that came out was very thick and seemed like it could have been a lining of something. Only the outer part was bloody and when it came out my cramping stopped.

Hi,

This is probably due to inner infection. You should first remove the birth control and take antibiotic like Ciprofloxacin tablet.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Salah Saad Shoman, Internal Medicine Specialist
