What Causes White Dots On Nipples During Pregnancy?

Im currently 16 weeks pregnant and I have white dots at the base of my nipple, on the tip as well but I think its milk. Should i be worried about these other dots around the nipple and up to the top there are 6 to 8 of them and only on my left side they were there a few weeks ago and went away. now they are back and there are more. should i see a doctor about them?

You need not worry about these punctate dots.
In fact during first pregnancy the areola and the nipples become darker and remain so throughout the life. Even the size of the areola also increases.
The milk sacs are present in the areolar area. During pregnancy they get filled up and stand out due to the secretions. Some times due to over stretching they may be little blanched.
These dots are called as Montgomery's tubercles.
