What Causes White Flaky Vaginal Discharge Despite Taking Medications?

Hi, I have had my first yeast infection, some burning and itching and white flakey discharge. I took the clotrimazole tablet and have been using the cream for about 5 days now, the itching and pain have gone completely however I m still experiencing some discharge. Is this something to be concerned about/will it go away?
