What Causes White Foamy Discharge From Vagina After Sex?

After intercourse, my partner and I noticed there was white foam coming from my vagina. Everything we have read says that the male has to ejaculate inside of the female in order for this to occur but he pulled out. Can you tell me why this happened please?
