Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes White Formation On Foreskin Of Penis Opening?
I have a white formation on right half of my penis. It developed recently after I applied vaseline on my dry penis after masturbation. I usually apply detail while bathing. Now I applied oil on this formation on the foreskin and penis head. Is this an urgent thing to worry about? Is it a yeast, or herpes?
Herpes will form pustules rather than the white flaky growths. It seems very likely that it is a yeast or fungal growth. However, fungal growth should cause itching also. Since you are applying some creams or oils, you may not feel the itching sensation.
Application of candid cream - minimum three times a day - should give you relief within a week's time. If it still persists, please report to the skin specialist for proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Soap is known to flare up yeast growth. Please avoid application of soap over the lesion. You may apply Lactycid lotion locally. It contains Lactobacilli and helps to restrict the growth of the fungus. Include lot of green leafy vegetables and fruits in your diet. Taking B complex capsules will help you increase your immunity also.
I hope this helps you.
