What Causes White Or Yellowish Colored Phlegm?

I have been caughing up nasty phlem for the last 5 days it was green then dark yellow now its kinda a milky yellow/white, however the last 2 days it has been mixed with blood just in the morning after sleeping, goes back to just yellow/white after an hour of being awake. do i need to see a doctor?

Hi, thanks for your query.
Yellow coloured phlegm suggests lung infection.
If I were your treating doctor, I would have prescribed penicillin antibiotics + anti histamine + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily for 1weeks. Expectorant cough syrup.
