What Causes White Patches On Cervix With Discomfort In Lower Abdomen?

Hi, I have had an ultrasound done and an internal scope to look at my cervix for abnormalities. All tests came back normal. There are white patches on my cervix. I have had blood when touching my cervix for 3 weeks and I have slight discomfort in my lower abdomen. Wondering if I have an underlying urinary infection and should ask for a urine analysis?

Hello,

For you have white patches on your cervix and easy to bleeding it is the sign that we should concern to cervical cancer. Your doctor should do a biopsy to find out any abnormality of the cell in your cervix. Early cervical cancer is frequently asymptomatic, underscoring the importance of screening. The most common symptoms at presentation are irregular or heavy vaginal bleeding, postcoital bleeding. Some women present with a vaginal discharge that may be watery, mucoid, or purulent and malodorous. This is a nonspecific finding and may be mistaken for vaginitis or cervicitis. Advanced disease may present with pelvic or lower back pain, which may radiate along the posterior side of the lower extremities. Bowel or urinary symptoms, such as pressure-related complaints, hematuria. In asymptomatic women, cervical cancer may be discovered as a result of cervical cancer screening or incidentally, if a visible lesion is discovered upon pelvic examination.

The differential diagnosis of cervical cancer includes other conditions that result in irregular or heavy vaginal bleeding, vaginal discharge, or a visible cervical lesion. genital tract bleeding and vaginal discharge may be caused by a variety of conditions. Postcoital bleeding or post touching bleed, which is the most specific presentation of cervical cancer, may also result from cervicitis.

Your doctor needs to see you again to do cytology, biopsy and colposcopy or test for other infection from your cervix so it helps to make your diagnosis better and give the right management to you.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
