What Causes White Patches On Sides And Upper Portion Of Lips?
Sir/madam, I have white patches on my upper lip & sides of lower lips, which really making me unhelathy &-ashamed of my friends.. I consulted several doctors said it is allergic to you & gave medicines of herpisafe ointment & vitamin c tablets...but not yet cured..pls suggest me what to do to remove these patches...pls help me..
As per your complain white patches on lips can occur due to a number of common causes like chronic dehydration causing chapped lips, fungal infection, Herpes virus infection, vitiligo, sunburns etc..
The confirmation can be done only after clinical evaluation by a dermatologist and treatment can be planned accordingly..
The Dermatologist can do a thorough clinical evaluation and if required he/she can advise you to get blood evaluation done for ruling out infection, allergies etc.. Localized scraping from the patches can also be sent for microscopic evaluation for ruling out the cause..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
