there are seriously 129 drs sitting around phones waiting to answer questions? anyway, anything new about the whitish patches from pigment loss called something starting with a T [tillinitis or something unlike trichotillomania ]was reportedly sometime responsive to the active agent in pepper or piperazine , i m probably misspelling, but anyway, the question is has anyone heard anything about long twrm effects of using melatonin for sleep at 10mg per night? Just seems like coincidence that Ii started using melatnin about 10 years ago and then about 4-5 years ago I started getting little whitish patches on my back and arms that has spread now to hands, neck , face
I think that your symptoms are related to vitiligo. Vitiligo is a skin condition that causes the appearance of white spots on various areas of the skin. Unfortunately, there is nothing that you can do to prevent the white spots from appearing. To diagnose is necessary an examination at the dermatologist or a photo of the lesions. I recommend you to use sun protection with SPF 30.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi
