General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, my name is Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi. I understand your concern.
White spots on your tonsils may be a sign of strep throat, infectious mononucleosis, or other contagious conditions.
You may be able to treat your symptoms at home.
Some advices that I can give to you are :
1)Use antibiotic. I recommend augmentine 625 mg for 7 days 1 tablet a day.
2)Use Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB), to reduce swelling and pain.
3)get a lot of rest.
4)try gargling warm salt water, which can help reduce swelling and pain.
Hope my answer was helpful, if you have any other questions I'll be glad to help, thanks!
