What Causes White Sores On The Tip Of Tongue Along With Severe Acid Reflux?

My tongue is not swollen but feels like it is and often has pin like white sores on the tip. It hurts and so does the roof of my mouth. I have severe acid reflux and wonder if it can affect my tongue. My doc, gastro, and dentist say there is no reason why these things happen. I have candida and had a severe reaction to Nystatin. Can that be a cause. Can it be a food allergy? Help please and thank you.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white sores on tip of tongue along with pain in roof of mouth can be very much due to acid reflux as acid can irritate the mucosa of the tongue as well as roof of mouth..
It can also be due to allergic reaction but it seems most probably due to acid reflux..
I would suggest you to consult gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine to relieve pain on tongue and roof of mouth..
You should take a multivitamin tablet daily..
Suck ice and do cool water rinses..
You can also take proper treatment for acid reflux that commonly includes Omeprazole, Pantoprazole, Ranitidine, antacids and dietary modifications..
Avoid spicy and chilled foods and drink plenty of water..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have white sores on the tip of tongue along with severe acid reflux. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons , but in your case it seems to me that symptoms are due to acid reflux . Well acid reflux along with medicine and surgery require life style changes also . I would suggest you to avoid spicy and heavy food specially at night , eat at least one hour before going to sleep , take light walk after every meal , take antacid after every meal and take small and frequent meals . If condition doesn't improve or get worse then consult gastroenterologist for proper evaluation . Doctor may prescribe ranitidine or omeprazole or may consider surgery . Do warm saline rinses for soreness omn tongue , if condition doesn't get well then consult oral pathologist for proper examination and treatment .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
