What Causes White Spots Around The Anus Of An Infant?

My baby is 4 months old. No diaper rash, but has a tiny white dot/white head on the outer ridge of his anus. The Anya itself has always been a bit red since he was born, but no clear red/redder area around the white head. Should I be worried this is staph?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a small abscess or condition like Fordyce spots.

Consult pediatrician and get evaluated.

As of now, topical antibiotics like Mupirocin can be applied.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
