What Causes White Spots In The Throat, Fever And Chills For 33-year-olds?
My daughter is 33 years old, has symptoms of white spots in back of throat, fever, chills, a very bad rash (onset about 3 weeks ago) and she is breast feeding a 4 month old. She has gone for a strep test and a test for mono. The quick results for strep were negative but this case of hives is bad and painful as well as the fever, sore throat, and chills. She doesn t feel overly tired. She is concerned about the baby and wonders if she continues to breast feed and has mono is there any affect on the baby?
The symptoms are typical of pharyngitis or strep throat. You can start on a short course of antibiotics preferably Amoxclav. Do warm saline gargles for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated. In that case you might require a throat swab.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Wishing you all the best.
