What Causes White Spots On The Tonsils Post Oral Sex?

My girlfriend gave me oral sex the other day and the next day she had white spots on her tonsils. She went to the doctors and they seem to think it might be gonorrhea. She is getting them tested today. Should I be worried? I have experienced no symptoms of Gonorrhea at all?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain white pustules on tonsils seems to be probably due to a bacterial throat infection known as Strep Throat leading to Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis..
White pustules are pus pockets that further confirms towards bacterial infection..
Improper maintenance of genital hygiene during oral sex can cause infection in throat..

For confirmation consult an Otolaryngologist or an ENT expert and get evaluated..
He can do investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..

You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like Augmentin OR Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
-Avoid spicy and chilled foods..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have white spots on the tonsils post oral sex which seems to be due to tonsillitis which occurs due to improper cleanliness of genitals. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day. You should take steam inhalation twice a day. You should avoid intake of outside food and cold carbonated beverages. Taking steam will be highly beneficial. Consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxiclav at least for 10 days along with decongestant. Maintain proper hygiene. Drink plenty of water and liquids. Take tepid sponging if it is severe headache. Take diet with mineral and vitamins to boost the immunity. Maintain proper hygiene and drink plenty of fluids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get well Soon.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
