What Causes White Tissue Discharge And Abdominal Cramping During Periods?

I m currently in the middle of my menstrual cycle and I have had white, tough tissue discharge for 2 days. Also, the cramps have been much more painful this time and I have irregular bowl movements. My period is also lasting longer than usual. I have not been sexually active and I am on the a birth control called Tri-Nessa. My cycles have been extremely regular to the point where I can expect it on a certain day and my period starts. I m curious if I should be worried about this or if it just some symptoms that happen randomly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to menstrual syndrome. They are completely normal during the menstrual cycle. I suggest to use anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the inflammation. I also suggest to use warm compresses at the pelvic area to relieve the pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
