What Causes White Tissue Like Discharge After Having Sex During My Periods?

Hi, I had sex on the second day of my menstruation, i woke up the next morning and found white tissue looking like substance in my menstrual blood. The blood was also thick and brownish in colour. I am not on pills and have never conceived before, I have never experienced this before, kindly assist.
