What Causes White Vaginal Discharge And Vaginal Itching Post Intake Of Macrobid?

Completed a 7 day course of macrobid last month. Experienced itching, burning, throbbing, and pain at the start of my period this month. Unsure if there is "cottage cheese like" discharge. I'm on day 2 of a 3 day Monistat treatment however I've only had minimal relief. Should I extend the otc treatment and start Monistat 7? Thank you.

As per your complain in case if you have got the symptoms of itching, burning and pain after taking Macrobod that is an antibiotic, the most probable cause can be Vaginal Yeast Infection known as Vaginal Thrush..
As you are taking Monistat that is an antifungal Medication, you should first of all consult a Gynaecologist or an Infectious Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like vaginal swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
In case of fungal infection that seems to be most probably the cause in your case you can be advised antifungal topical ointment like Clotrimazole, antifungal pesseries and in case of severe infection Oral antifungal medicines like Fluconazole can be advised..
Along with it take more of Probiotics like Yoghurt..
Keep the area clean and dry..
Wear clean and loose fitting undergarments..
