What Causes White Vaginal Discharge?

Hi, am Soujanya. I've recently visited doctor for white discharge problem doctor checked and confirmerd that it is yeast infection and given tabs for 6 days. now am itch free but am still getting white discharge say once in a day not heavy and smelly. can I know why is this happening. will white discharge is common for women?
