I just found a white spot on my right tonsil .when I touched it the spot moved. So I tried to remove it and it came out it took a while but quite a bit of whitish material came out. There is a small hole there which this stuff was in. My tonsil is a ill swollen what could this be
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain it seems that a white spot on your right tonsil that spot moved when touched and it came out when tried to remove and looks a bit of whitish seems to be a tonsil stone or tonsillolith and it can be due to calcification of the food debris that gets accumulated over the tonsil..
Secondly a small hole left after removal is a tonsillar crypt that seems to be deep enough to lodge debris that later gets calcified.. Tonsil stones are common cause for tonsillar inflammation and bad breath..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated.. In case of tonsil stones, you can be advised to start gargling with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water.. Do war saline gargles.. Always gargle after eating anything.. Limit intake of dairy as they are high calcium products and accelerate stone formation..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
