What Causes Whooping Cough Along With Pain In Chest?

I have had whooping cough since Dec 27th. After a doctor visit I was given antibiotices and an inhaler and that helped significantly, but I still have a dry cough. After a cough and sneeze last week, I felt like ripped on my side. It subsideed, the last few days I've noticed pain in my left side once in awhie. Today it is very severe and I am having trouble taking a deep breath and have some gas, that is releived a bit by belching. Is there any exercise or home remedy I can try until I get to my doctor on Monday?
