hi, i have seen an ENT MD this past wednesday, looked in my ear and states that I have a yeast infection, he cultured the drainage that was clear yellow, he states that there is not perforation, though, i can hold my nose and blow air out the ear drum, with lots of fluid coming out, I can not hear out of the ear. what is your best case scenario of this resolving
Hi. In such a case of fungal / yeast infection with pus and perforation as your Valsalva test is positive I would recommend the following: Antibiotic, antihistamine, anti-inflammatory- oral and topical anti-fungal drops, for 7 to 21 days; regular cleaning. I would also advise not to blow nose or force air through Eustachian Tube. Get blood sugar checked. Have review with the ENT regularly.
