What Causes Yellow Blisters In The Scalp With Liquid Substance Oozing From It?

I went to a pool party yesterday and in the sun all day. My scalp looked red last night after and it is very sensitive in the shower. Today it has yellow blistery flakes on the scalp and oozes a little bit of a clear liquidy substance with no odor (almost looks like sweat). What is wrong and what should I do?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain yellow blisters over the scalp along with oozing fluid can be due to causes like Hair follicle infection or folliculitis, Impetigo, allergic reaction etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of the scraping from the scalp, blood tests, fluid culture etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised to apply an antibiotic ointment over the scalp..
You can apply steroid lotion ..
A sort course of oral antibiotics can also be advised..
Keep the scalp clean and wash every alternate day with a mild shampoo..
Avoid scratching the scalp as it can increase the spread of infection..
You should also avoid moisture accumulation in the scalp as it acts as a medium for growth of microbes that cause infection..
