What Causes Yellow Discharge From Eyes With Excessive Salivation In A Toddler?

My 15 month old has a lot of yellow discharge coming out of his eyes along with a runny, runny nose and is salivating like crazy. His shirt is soaked. The eye discharge is my main concern and ends up dried and crusty in our dry Colorado climate. Any thoughts for what we can do? He s still pretty good spirited about being sick. thanks, matt

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have yellow discharge from eye and excessive salivation . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition like allergic reaction . There can be many reasons for allergic reaction like any cosmetic product , side effect of any medicine and allergic reaction from any external stimuli . I would suggest you to consult general practitioner to find out exact cause and rule out condition like conjunctivitis , dental infection , acid reflux and other reaction of eye . Doctor may refer you to eye specialist or allergy specialist . For now wash your eye with cold water , take benadryl , drink plenty of fluid and take proper rest .
