What Causes Yellow Liquid From Penis With Pain In Testicles?

Hi,I am 29 years old and I think I have a problem. About 2 weeks ago I had some yellow liquid coming out of my penis. I took some antibiotics for one week and starting with the first day of the treatment the liquid didn't appear anymore but my testicles started to hurt, not bad but feels uncomfortable. My girlfriend went to hospital and they said she is fine, no problems, but she didn't say anything about my problems and they made only a general check of her vagina. I don't have any other symptoms, only the unconformable pain of my testicles. Can you please tell me what kind of pills should I take. I mention I am from Romania and it would be great if you would advice me about some known pills in my country as well that would help me with my problem.Thank You.

Hello,

You are having yellow liquid discharge from your penis. You are also having pain in the testicles. Your symptoms are indicative of gonorrhea. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a Urologist and get a swab test from your penis, throat, or rectum done to get a sample of fluid for testing. A laboratory culture is required for this kind of test which can take several days.

The Urologist can tell you to get urine test done to detect gonorrhea, get STD tests and a blood test done to detect gonorrhea. An at-home gonorrhea test can also be purchased and used for testing. If you get positive report, then avoid any sexual activity until you receive a negative test result. Gonorrhea can also affect your testicle, thus causing you pain.

Treatment for gonorrhea after it is confirmed is a one-time intramuscular injection(in the buttocks) of the antibiotic ceftriaxone. The treating doctor can also prescribe an oral medication, like a twice-daily dose of doxycycline for 7 days and also analgesic to help you get rid of pain and discomfort.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
