What Causes Yellow Mouth Roof?

Have sore throat, swallowing not painful, history of chronic sinusitis (yellow mucous daily rinse), day 1 tickle/horse & more yellow mucous in nose than usual, day 3 photo shows raw red back of throat with yellow hard palate & starting coughing up yellow mucous as well & started course of amoxillin at suggestion of pharmacist to be sure. Day 5 now, pain reduced but appearance the same. Wondering if the yellow roof of mouth means anything..for example in suggesting particular kind of microbe?

Yellow roof of mouth means nothing in relation to microbe.
You have active sinus and nasal infection. This infected material from the nose trickles down the throat and infected it , so there is sore throat.
Amoxicillin is good antibiotic and should be continued. I usually give amoxicillin with clavulinic acid to my patients. In addition anti histaminic and decongestants are also advisable. For local application decongestant drops xylometazoline are good enough.
