What Causes Yellow Oily Liquid Discharge From Breast?

Hi,I am concerned because I have a baby oil, clearish/ yellow substance leaking from my right breast. It doesn t seem to be coming from the nipple but I can t be sure. It has been happening for about a week now and the substance leaks right threw my bra and shirt but I don t feel it as it is happening. When I touch my breast it just feels oily, not wet, but is staining my cloths and noticeably leaking threw them. I am sexually active but rarely if not never are my breast stimulated. I don t think I am pregnant. I am a recovering addict, 26 days sober today from an opiate addiction. I m not sure if that could possibly have anything to do with it. Unfortunately because of my addiction I neglected to do many things over the years so I no longer have a current PCP or OBGYN. I need your help! This has never happened to me before. It s only my right breast and it s leaking an oily clearish, yellow substance. Looking forward to your response! Thank you, Sabrina

I would like to congratulate first for 26 successful sober days! I wish you have all days of your lifetime sober! A discharge from nipple in absence of pregnancy, lactation or mechanical stimulation is considered abnormal so you should not ignore it.

There are many possibilities that can cause such discharge like infection of the ducts of breast, prolactin hormone imbalance, some growth in the breast etc.

I can understand you do not have an OBGYN but finding one and getting an examination is necessary for your condition. After the examination and necessary investigation, a cause can be determined and treatment can be started.
