What Causes Yellow Phlegm Discharge From The Mouth?

Hi there, I have seen quite a number of doctor and there is no result so far. Some MD believes it is due to allergy, some ENT believes it is due to my nose leaking down the airway, causing throat infection but my nose is perfectly fine. My mouth is dirty every morning comes with yellow/brown saliva + phlegm. The phlegm is not thick and it can be white or clear yellow. It happens everyday after I woke up and my throat has been swollen for quite some time. I did X-Ray and it seems fine too. Ate all the antibiotic, nothing changed. Brush teeth twice a day + listerine. Sometime I will cough for a short while after I woke up. Non smoker. I have history of acid reflux 3 months ago but I got it fixed.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well, your symptoms of phlegm in mouth especially in the morning along with cough are due to acid reflux only..
Many a times the typical symptoms of acid reflux are not apparent like heartburn or burning and pain in upper part of abdomen and chest.
It is due to Laryngopharyngeal reflux or silent reflux..
So it is better to consult your Physician or an Emergency room and get evaluated..
You can be advised the treatment similar to acid reflux that is proton pump inhibitors like Omeprazole, antacids and avoiding heavy and spicy meals..
Along with it eat plenty of yogurt, drink sufficient water and do regular workout.
Eat your dinner atleast 2 hours before sleeping and sleep with head raised as compared to feet..
