What Causes Yellow Spots On The Tonsils During Pregnancy?

Hi, iv had a yellow spot on my tonsil I have no pain and not symptoms of tonsillitis but it has got reasonably bigger in the last day or so and it constantly feels like I have something stuck on my throat is it tonsillitis or something more I may need to get checked oh also I am a smoker and I am 19 weeks and 2 days pregnant

Hi dear ,

As per your query you have yellow spot on tonsil as well as enlargement of tonsil . The symptoms you mention in query is pointing towards sore throat and tonsillitis . It is extremely important to get the right treatment in pregnancy . So , i would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order throat swab test , blood test and viral culture test to rule out condition like acid reflux . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like cephalexin, penicillin and amoxicillin or antiviral drug like acyclovir in case of viral infection . for now do warm saline rinses several times a day , drink plenty of warm fluids like green tea and warm water with a one spoon of honey .
