I have just been diagnosed with anorexia the doctortold me to take a good amount of miralax because I was constipated with yellow poop. Now I am having yellow diarrhea, after the medicine wears off and I go back to eating a normal diet should my stools go back to a normal color?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello!
Stools are normally yellow to brown in color. Loose stools may be noticed initially on taking miralax and is advisable not to continue for a long duration. The stools will return back to normal color once you get back on a normal diet. It is advisable to take high fiber foods like oats, corn, rice bran, multugrains or cereals, complex carbohydrates, drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water, eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, walk for about 30 minutes. Dehydration can result in hard stools. Hope this helps!
