What Causes Yellowish Phelgm In Stage 3 Lung Cancer?
my husband has stage 3b lung cancer. He constantly coughs up yellowish phelgm. he cannot lay flat or will choke. He doesn t get much sleep because of the need to spit pheklgm frequently. The doctor who administered radiation, said it s pieces of the tumor that has broken up. What is it?

He needs to do sputum culture sensitivity test and treat it with antibiotics

Yellowish phlegm which your husband is coughing out can be small bits of mucosa tissue and tumor. More likely he may be having chest infection and hence coughing out yellowish phlegm. You need to undergo xray or CT scan and sputum examination to rule out the infection.
