What Causes Yellowish Vaginal Discharge After Having Surgical Abortion?

I had a surgical abortion in November 2010. It is now April 2011. I have had a daily discharge that varies from clear to just a slight tint of yellow. There is no odor, nor is there any itching or pain. I did speak with and visit my ob/gyn and she said it is normal to be experiencing this discharge, even months after the procedure. Is this true? She did no testing. It is concerning because prior to the abortion, I had no such discharge.
