Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 19 years old and have been experiencing really bad yeast infections every month right before my period. I get sores all over my face, lips, neck and even inside my mouth (thrush) and of course down there too. My thrush is so painful that I can t even eat. It burns when I urinate and it s very discomforting. I would like to know ways to prevent yeast infections. When my period is done my yeast infection completely disappears. I take daily laxatives and I m on strong medication like percocets. Could these be causing my yeast infections every month? Please help me, I can t go through this every month, it s very painful and discomforting. I m looking forward to your answer.
Dear mam I understand we r having a fungal infection here. May i know the reason for the painkillers ? .More over the oral thrush is quite common due to candida infection as well. The relation with the periods might relate to the hormonal changes aswell. Let us start with antifungal oral as well as topical(ointments) . Frequent use of laxatives also lead us to certain vitamin deficiency. Plz do get a urine(routine, microscopy) done to rule out any urine infection. Please add sufficient fluids and fibre in the diet with proper hygiene. Commonly the fungal spores get stored in our clothing which needs to be taken care of.Plz avoid pain killers and laxatives as far as possible. hope this helps welcome for further queries
