General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the pinprick pain in the breast upon pumping the milk may be a sign of underlying inflammation (with or without abscess formation) from milk collection as pumping does not work as effective as baby suckling.

* Kindly get an ultrasound of the breast soft tissue for further management guidelines and prevent further complications.

* Addition of precise antibiotics as cefadroxil or else as per the choice of your doc will take care of the issue precisely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
