General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Altered sensation is usually related to the nerve supply to the area. It may be due to abnormal function or structure of the nerves.

There are specific nerves that supply the different aspects of the hand. The nerves can be affected by: trauma (eg compression, injury), vitamin b12 or folate levels, diabetes, neurological diseases

If your symptoms continue then you may want to consult your doctor who would be able to determine the nerve involved and the possible cause of your symptoms.

I hope this helps
