What Could Acute Anxiety Attacks, In People Recovering From Alcohol Suggest?

I am a recovering alcoholic and since being discharged from the hospital 3 1/2 years ago, i have been taking zoloft and clonopin. I had a relapse 4 months ago and asked my doctor for antabuse which i have been taking since. About six weeks ago, i was having acute anxiety attacks and have been taking risperadal. I do not like taking all these drugs but i am afraid to go off them because basically i used alcohol to self-medicate since i was 16 and really dont know what i would feel like sober. My wife of 32 years thinks i am much more level headed and calmer. What is your advise to me?

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I suggest you not to worry much. Being level headed and calmer should definitely help. but you should also try to divert your attention towards other areas. You should try to concentrate more on career side. If you be passionate towards your occupation, that is good. Also drink plenty of fruit juices. Exercises and games play important part in recovery. These activities sweat you out and reduce cravings and anxiety.

Psychotherapy techniques should suit your requirement. If you require more of my help in this aspect, Please post a direct question to me in this URL. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Make sure that you include every minute details possible. I shall prescribe the needed psychotherapy techniques.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
